Two New Restaurants Open at Moorestown Mall

Earlier this month, the Moorestown Mall celebrated the opening of two new restaurants on its premises: Hash House A Go Go and Joe Italiano’s Maplewood.

If you’ve been to the Moorestown Mall lately, you’ve probably noticed some changes.

PREIT, the real estate group that manages the mall, celebrated the opening of two of its newest arrivals this month: Hash House A Go Go and Joe Italiano’s Maplewood.

Hash House

Filling the 7,800-square-foot space formerly occupied by Distrito, Hash House brought a bit of the midwest to the east coast when it opened its doors on Thursday, January 17. Serving daily brunch – as well as lunch, dinner, cocktails, and local beer – Hash House specializes in midwestern comfort food with a modern spin (think Sage Fried Chicken or Hand Hammered Pork Tenderloin).

While Hash House boasts 11 other restaurants throughout the United States, their new Moorestown Mall location marks the chain’s first venture in our region. South Jerseyans have reason to be excited: the eatery’s “twisted” cuisine has enjoyed several appearances in popular media, including a feature on the Travel Channel’s hit reality show Man v. Food.

In addition to offering creative twists on old classics, Hash House’s mission also supports environmental practices – like recycling, farm-fresh ingredients, and water-on-request practices.

Less than a week since opening, Hash House has already earned a number of fans in South Jersey. One reviewer on Google reports food so good your “eyes will pop out of your head.” Several reviewers remark on the immense portion sizes: if you go, come hungry.

Joe Italiano’s Maplewood

Following a 75-year history in Hammonton and Mays Landing, Joe Italiano’s Maplewood also opened its third location earlier this month. Maplewood’s Moorestown Mall restaurant offers diners brick-oven specialties and other Italian classics like pasta with red “gravy” in its new 8,600 square-foot space.

The two new eateries are part of a broader effort to revitalize the Moorestown Mall. Later this year, PREIT also plans to reinvent the 25,000 square-foot space formerly occupied by Macy’s. Michaels, HomeSense, Sierra Trading Post, and Five Below are slated to open inside the former department store sometime in 2019.
